I have touched them at cat shows(yes they are scary places, the owners bite, I am convinced) and they feel like a suede hot water bottle. They are reported to have the most amazing personalities, and I suspect this is true. I owned a cornish rex, which is rather close in body type and personality and he was the absolute cats meow. We lost him to cancer almost a year ago unfortunately. When I got him as a baby he was naked and looked just like these sphynx until his coat came in. He of course had an amazing rippled coat, it felt like velvet and he had many bald areas on his body. lol But if you are considering one, oh I would go for it without hesitation..they are wonderful critters.
