Appointment results

I am back from the Dr. He said my ovaries look good and that we can start the shots tonight. He keeps warning me about multiples. He’s starting to freak me out. OK, so anyone who has talked to me for more than 5 minutes already knows how freaked out I am… but he’s not helping! I even had to sign a waiver saying I understood that there was a 20% chance of multiples! A waiver! WTF?!?!  It also said that I could potentially DIE from these meds… yeah, DIE! Granted it almost never happens, but still!

Anywho, so after drawing all over my tummy (I am so ticklish it was all I could do not to kick him!) he sent me off to wait 10 hours and inject myself.  And again tomorrow, thursday and friday. Then I have an appointment on Saturday (yeah, he’s a great Dr., he has Saturday hours) I go back for ANOTHER ultrasound to see if I have any follicles. Then I do another round of 4 shots. he said I’ll probably do 15 shots this month… yuck!

Let’s hope it’s all worth it.

Dr. appointment tomorrow

I have an appointment with my RE (reproductive endocrinologist), Dr. C… We are officially going to start my shots… ewww. I am SO nervous about sticking myself… yuck! But, you gotta do what you gotta do, right? My friend Michele had her first appointment with Dr. C today. She had really bad luck with Dr. H, her previous RE, and so I am so GLAD she is going to Dr. C! He is such a WONDERFUL Dr.! Josh is excited to start our new cycle. I think it is finally becoming more real to him that we are going to be pregnant soon (knock on wood). So I am very excited! She had me laughing because our infertility specialist told her she wasn’t allowed to get pregnant yet because she has polyps. SHe claims the irony of being told by her RE that she couldn’t get pregnant for 6 weeks was not lost on her (she has a great sense of humor!). I’ll update everyone tomorrow on how my appointment goes.

Crisis averted

Well, my shots arrived today, thank goodness! I had to sit on the phone for a WHILE and good thing I did because they were going to only send one month’s supply and they I told them to look at the prescription again, that my Dr. wrote it specifically for 3 months doses. So, I have all my meds, and everything is set for the next month of treatment. I was surprised when the boxes arrived. that’s right boxes. plural. three of them. They were delivered overnight and in coolers, I felt like I was getting a donor heart or something! It was crazy! So now I have half a fridge full of meds… no idea where to put the broccoli now…lol.
